Police Seize Narcotics and Cash in Major Crackdown Led by DSP Bhola Prasad

JAMSHEDPUR – In a major action against drug trafficking, Sitaramdera police arrested one brown sugar peddler late Saturday night. The accused was found with narcotics and cash during a targeted operation.
The arrested person has been identified as 26-year-old Raju Lohar, a resident of Old Sitaramdera, Uraon Basti, behind Ganesh Mandir, house number 601. Around 8 p.m. on October 4, police received a secret tip about illegal drug sales at Kuan Maidan.
Acting swiftly, a special team was formed under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police. The operation was led by DSP Headquarters-1, Bhola Prasad Singh. The team raided the location and arrested Raju Lohar.
From his possession, 98 packets of brown sugar weighing 5.48 grams and Rs 2200 in cash were recovered. DSP Bhola Prasad confirmed that the accused had been involved in narcotics trade earlier as well. He was previously booked under the NDPS Act in Sakchi police case number 11/23, dated January 13, 2023.
“This arrest marks a strong step against drug peddling in the city,” said a police source. The police have begun searching for other individuals linked to this drug network.
