Nigmanand Paul Retains Treasurer Post at 24th District Conference

JAMSHEDPUR – Ambuj Kumar Thakur was unanimously re-elected as the district secretary of the Communist Party of India in Singhbhum during the 24th district council conference.
Nigmanand Paul was also retained as treasurer without opposition. Both leaders were chosen for a second consecutive term of three years. The decisions were made on the second day of the council meeting at Basta Soren Hall in Sakchi.
The representative session opened with slogans in support of CPI. Seventeen delegates debated the secretary’s report and presented ideas for party expansion and addressing public issues. State secretary Mahendra Pathak appealed for stronger mass organizations and preparations to contest two Assembly seats in Kolhan in 2029.
He demanded the immediate cancellation of the land policy created during BJP rule, action against illegal sand trade, and fair prices for the public. He also criticized inflation and unemployment under the central government. According to him, “The ruling party has failed both in intent and policy.”
Meanwhile, the treasurer presented the accounts for the past three years. Delegates approved the report unanimously.
The conference also declared a five-member secretariat with R.S. Rai, Bhubneshwar Tiwari, Ambuj Kumar Thakur, Hira Arakne, and Dhananjay Shukla. A 43-member committee was also constituted.
Four resolutions were passed, including withdrawal of the proposed labor codes, steps to reduce youth unemployment, restrictions on rising education costs and the new education policy, and fulfillment of promises made to farmers. In addition, a resolution was passed to improve monitoring of the public distribution system.
The meeting concluded with thanks from chairman Bhubneshwar Tiwari, who appreciated the arrangements and acknowledged the contribution of Mahendra Pathak and AITUC general secretary Ashok Yadav.
