JAMSHEDPUR – Local police achieved a major breakthrough against vehicle theft by arresting two gang members and recovering five stolen motorcycles from various city locations.

Officers arrested Mohammad Taufiq alias Babu from Azadnagar Old Purulia Road. Meanwhile, Supriyo Ghosh was captured from Gokulnagar in Mango area. Both suspects were apprehended near Sitaramdera bus stand during suspicious activities.

The patrol team noticed unusual behavior from the duo. However, when questioned, they became nervous and hesitant. Moreover, their evasive responses raised immediate suspicions among officers.

Police took them into custody for detailed interrogation. During questioning, both made shocking revelations about their criminal activities. In addition, they provided crucial information about stolen vehicles.

Based on their directions, officers recovered five motorcycles from separate locations. The stolen vehicles were taken from Sitaramdera, Jubilee Park, and Bistupur areas. Furthermore, motorcycles were also stolen from Kapali and Kali Mandir near National Highway.

Supriyo Ghosh has an extensive criminal background. He previously served jail sentences for multiple serious offenses. On the other hand, this marks a significant pattern of repeat criminal behavior.

“We have been tracking vehicle theft patterns across the city,” said a police source. “These arrests will help reduce such incidents significantly.”

The investigation revealed systematic operations by the gang. They targeted busy commercial areas and residential zones. Besides, the duo had specific knowledge about vehicle security systems.

Police are now investigating connections to other theft cases. The recovered motorcycles will be returned to owners after verification. Moreover, authorities are examining if more gang members remain at large.

This breakthrough comes amid rising vehicle theft complaints in Jamshedpur. Local residents had expressed concerns about motorcycle security. However, police action demonstrates commitment to public safety.
