MEDININAGAR – In a shocking incident in Palamu’s Hussainabad area, G Devi, a mother, allegedly killed her one-year-old daughter in a ritualistic sacrifice, reportedly seeking supernatural powers.

The incident occurred late Tuesday night in Kharaapar village, and a formal complaint was lodged by her mother-in-law, K Devi, at Hussainabad Police Station on Wednesday.

According to the FIR, G Devi left home with her child late at night without informing her family.

She returned alone hours later, arousing suspicions.

Following the complaint, Hussainabad police, led by Station House Officer Sanjay Kumar Yadav, took G Devi into custody for questioning, where she reportedly confessed to the crime.

Acting on her information, the police located and exhumed the infant’s body from a secluded area outside the village.

A postmortem confirmed severe injuries, including the removal of the infant’s chest organs, which investigators believe was part of a ritual.

Dr. Vinesh Kumar, medical in-charge at the local hospital, confirmed these findings and stated that tissue samples have been preserved for further investigation.

Eyewitnesses from the village reported seeing G Devi leaving with her child at night, with the mother allegedly claiming she was taking the child for medical treatment.

The incident has caused widespread shock, with locals condemning the act as a result of deep-rooted superstitions and calling for stricter measures against such practices.
