Tata Steel Hosts Golf Putting Contest for Senior Citizens

Event part of Fun & Fitness League at JRD Tata Stadium in Jamshedpur

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Sports department orchestrated a Golf Putting Competition for seniors aged 55 and above at JRD Tata Stadium on September 20.

The event, part of the Senior Citizen Fun & Fitness League, attracted more than 25 enthusiastic golfers from Jamshedpur.

Dr. KP Dubey, former Chief Medical Officer of Tata Main Hospital, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Meanwhile, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Commandant Central Reserve Police Force, attended as the Guest of Honour.

The championship is one of several events in the Senior Citizen Fun & Fitness League.

Moreover, the league has already completed Table Tennis, Badminton, Water polo, and Walkathon events.

Vibhuti Adesara, Head of Sports Events & Training Centres at Tata Steel, led the organization of the championship.

Additionally, Neelam Kumari and Mr. Dinesh Rakshit provided active cooperation in arranging the event.

The Sports department was well-represented at the competition.

Furthermore, Hassan Imam, Firoz Khan, Vasudev Rao, K Nageswar Rao, and Ajit Singh were among the attendees.

The organizers structured the competition into four distinct age groups.

Consequently, the age categories were 55-60 years, 60-65 years, 65-70 years, and 70 years and above.

"A senior participant remarked, ‘This event not only promotes fitness but also fosters a sense of community among us.’"

On the other hand, the competition highlighted Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting health and fitness among seniors.

The Golf Putting Contest offered a unique opportunity for older adults to stay active and engaged.

In addition, it provided a platform for social interaction among the senior citizen community in Jamshedpur.

The event’s success underscores the importance of tailored fitness initiatives for different age groups.
