Sitaramdera resident assaulted with sword after protesting drug sale

JAMSHEDPUR – A man was severely injured in a sword attack after protesting against brown sugar sales in Sitaramdera area.

The incident occurred on Bhalubasa Slag Road in Sitaramdera police station area.

Rohit Mukhi, the victim, was brutally assaulted with a sword.

The attackers were identified as P Mukhi, his brother C Mukhi, and their father P Mukhi.

Reportedly, the assault was triggered by Rohit’s opposition to Prem’s drug dealing activities in the area.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to MGM Hospital for treatment.

Following the attack, Rohit informed the Sitaramdera police about the incident.

He disclosed to the authorities that P Mukhi had been selling brown sugar in the locality.

Rohit’s resistance to these illegal activities had led to ongoing conflicts between them.

On Saturday night, the situation escalated when the accused launched a violent assault on Rohit.

Moreover, the attackers allegedly threatened to kill him.

A knowledgeable source stated, "The victim’s stand against drug peddling in the neighborhood led to this vicious attack."

Meanwhile, local residents expressed concern over the rising drug-related violence in the area.

Currently, the police are thoroughly investigating the case to bring the culprits to justice.
