JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel has uncovered a multi-state recruitment scam, urging the public to remain cautious of fraudulent job offers and unauthorized payment demands.
The steel giant’s brand protection team has exposed a widespread fraudulent recruitment operation spanning several states.
An official investigation has concluded, resulting in formal police complaints against the identified perpetrators.
"The company has filed an FIR against those involved in this deceptive scheme," stated a company insider.
Tata Steel emphasizes its commitment to merit-based hiring practices.
"No fees or deposits are ever charged during any recruitment stage," the insider clarified.
Public vigilance is crucial in combating such scams.
Fraudsters often pose as Tata Steel representatives, using fake appointment letters and various communication channels.
The company said: “We urge the public to remain cautious and avoid falling victim to scams where payments are solicited in exchange for job opportunities at Tata Steel. Please note that Tata Steel follows a merit-based employee selection process and does not charge any fees, security deposits, or facilitation charges during any stage of the recruitment process. We have also placed a notice to this effect on the careers page of our official website”
It also added: Fraudsters may falsely claim to be associated with Tata Steel, using fake appointment letters and fraudulent communications, including emails, phone calls, and social media, to demand payment from job seekers. We urge the public to ignore any such requests for payment and treat them as scams.”
