District Election Officer sets 5-day deadline for firms to submit relocated workers’ details

JAMSHEDPUR – District Election Officer Ananya Mittal chaired a crucial meeting with private company representatives to address significant delays in updating the voter list for relocated employees.
Only 3 out of 87 affected booths have provided the necessary data, prompting concerns about voter list accuracy.
Mittal expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress and its impact on creating a clean, error-free voter roll for upcoming elections.
Companies were given a strict five-day deadline to submit required employee details in the prescribed format.
Door-to-door verification by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) revealed challenges due to demolished company quarters and employee relocations.
The District Election Officer urged full cooperation from companies in the 48-Jamshedpur East, 49-Jamshedpur West, and 45-Ghatsila Assembly Constituencies.
Companies were instructed to cross-reference the list of absent, shifted, and deceased voters with their Human Resource Management System (HRMS).
Voters can update their details through the 1950 helpline number, Voter Helpline App, or by contacting their BLO.
"The slow response from companies is hindering the accuracy of the voter list," Mittal stated during the review.
The meeting was attended by key officials and representatives from major companies including Tata Steel, Jusco, Tata Cummins, and others.
