Several trains cancelled, short-terminated; restoration efforts underway at Barabambo
South Eastern Railway announces cancellations and changes to train services following the derailment of Howrah-CSMT Mumbai Mail.
JAMSHEDPUR – Multiple train services have been affected after the 12810 Howrah-CSMT Mumbai Mail derailed near Barabambo station in Chakradharpur Division.
The 08163/08164 Chakradharpur-Rourkela-Chakradharpur Special was among the trains cancelled today.
The 12768 Santragachi-Nanded Express, 08602 Hatia-Tatanagar Special, and 18114 Bilaspur-Tatanagar Express also faced cancellation.
On August 1, 2024, the 08195 Tatanagar-Hatia Special and 18190 Ernakulam-Tatanagar Express will not run.
The 12872 Titlagarh-Howrah Express was cancelled on July 31, 2024.
Short-termination was announced for the 18011 Howrah-Chakradharpur Express at Adra on July 31, 2024.
In a positive development, the 13287 Durg-Ara Express will now operate on its normal route instead of being short-terminated at Jharsuguda.
Restoration efforts are in progress, with the bi-directional third line expected to be operational within hours on July 31.
The other two lines are planned to be restored in due course.
Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager of South Eastern Railway, is overseeing the restoration work at the site.
Arun Jatoh Rathod, Divisional Railway Manager of Chakradharpur, along with principal officers of SER and senior Railway Board officials, are also present at the location.
