INTUC demands election tickets for Bokaro, Dhanbad, West Singhbhum, and East Singhbhum
The Jharkhand Pradesh INTUC has staked a claim for four assembly seats in the upcoming elections.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhand Pradesh INTUC, under the leadership of state president Rakeshwar Pandey, has demanded election tickets for candidates from Bokaro, Dhanbad, West Singhbhum, and East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur) in the upcoming assembly elections.
A meeting held at the Wire Product Workers Union office in Jamshedpur saw INTUC workers pushing for their representation in the elections.
Speakers emphasized the significant role of laborers in the formation and development of Jharkhand, with INTUC playing a crucial part.
They argued that INTUC leaders should be given the opportunity to represent in the assembly elections, as neglecting them has adversely affected the Congress party’s results.
The meeting also discussed the creation of new unions in the organized and unorganized sectors, ensuring government benefits like PF and ESI for unorganized workers, and addressing issues at Jharkhand’s second-largest ESI hospital in Adityapur.
The meeting decided that the state executive committee of Jharkhand INTUC will convene on July 7 at Town Hall in Hazaribagh.
National General Secretary Sanjay Singh will attend the executive committee meeting, along with leaders from all INTUC wings, including Women INTUC and Youth INTUC.
Among the prominent attendees were Jharkhand Pradesh INTUC President Rakeshwar Pandey, Tata Motors Workers Union General Secretary R.K. Singh, Pankaj Singh, and Shrikant Singh.
Rakeshwar Pandey and Raghunath Pandey are strong candidates for the assembly elections in Jamshedpur.
Rakeshwar Pandey, a key leader in several Tata Group unions, and Raghunath Pandey, President of JUSCO Workers Union and various other unions, are the top contenders.
"This is an essential move to ensure laborers are represented in the assembly," said a union leader.
