Ghatsila College Launches Eight-Day Anti-Drug Campaign

Awareness Programs Aimed at Educating Youth on the Dangers of Drug Abuse

An eight-day special awareness campaign will be conducted at Ghatsila College from June 18 to 26 to combat drug abuse among the youth.

JAMSHEDPUR – From June 18 to 26, Ghatsila College will run a special awareness campaign against drug abuse, organized under the directives of the Higher and Technical Education Department of the Jharkhand Government.

Principal Dr. RK Chaudhary has outlined a series of programs to be held over the eight days.

Dr. Chaudhary emphasized the severe impact of drug addiction on society and the country, stating, "The main objective is to make the young generation aware of drug addiction through this campaign."

He highlighted that the increasing drug abuse among Indian youth, influenced by western culture, is a growing concern.

"Youth are consuming drugs like ganja, hashish, heroin, cocaine, opium, and alcohol, suffering serious side effects," he added.

The campaign will feature various activities aimed at preventing youth from turning to drugs.

The responsibility for organizing this special program has been assigned to NCC officer Lieutenant Maheshwar Pramanik and NSS program officers Prof. Indal Paswan and Prof. Archana Surin.

The schedule of the eight-day awareness program is as follows:

18 June – Sankalp/Pledge

19 June – Poster making competition

20 June – Slogan writing competition

21 June – Quiz competition

22 June – Speech competition

24 June – Essay competition

25 June – Lecture program

26 June – Awareness rally on World Drug De-addiction Day
