JAMSHEDPUR – Born and raised in the city, Amit Mishra’s academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Jamshedpur.

He then went on to pursue a Master’s degree from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Hyderabad and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from IMT Ghaziabad.

Currently, Amit is a researcher undergoing research training at IMT Hyderabad, where he focuses on creating positive and productive work environments.

The fellowship from the Royal Society of Arts, an organization dedicated to promoting social progress and reform, underscores the significance of his work.

Humbled by the Honor, Inspired to Contribute

Expressing his gratitude, Amit said, “Being inducted as a Fellow into the Royal Society of Arts is a humbling honor. Having my research recognized by an institution that has counted among its members giants like Nelson Mandela, Stephen Hawking, and even pioneering minds like Charles Dickens and Benjamin Franklin is truly inspiring. It motivates me to contribute meaningfully to the field of organizational behavior, just like these luminaries have impacted their respective areas.”

He further elaborated on his eagerness to learn from and collaborate with fellow researchers within the esteemed organization, envisioning the possibilities of building on the legacy of great thinkers and working towards creating positive and productive workplaces globally.

Dr. Ram Tarneja Award for Best Article

Amit’s induction into the Royal Society of Arts comes on the heels of another major achievement.

In February 2024, he was awarded the prestigious Dr. Ram Tarneja Award for Best Article in Indian Management.

The award was presented to him by Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan, the Education Minister of India, and Amitabh Kant, the CEO of Niti Aayog, during the 18th National Management Day ceremony.

A Moment of Pride for Jamshedpur

Amit’s achievements serve as a double honor, not just for him personally, but also for the city of Jamshedpur.

His dedication to research and commitment to improving workplaces stand as an inspiration to aspiring scholars in the city.

Jamshedpur takes immense pride in Amit’s accomplishments, as he carries the city’s name to the global stage through his induction into the Royal Society of Arts and his continued efforts to create positive change in the field of organizational behavior.
