Two Retired Officers Face Pension Cuts, Departmental Action Initiated Against Others
In the aftermath of the Lok Sabha elections, the Jharkhand government led by Chief Minister Champai Soren has swiftly moved into action mode, approving departmental action against four officers, including two who have already retired from service.
RANCHI – The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has given the green light for departmental action against Ram Pravesh Kumar, Chandrashekhar Singh, Awadhesh Kumar Pandey, and Dr. Ashok Kumar Pathak.
Ram Pravesh Kumar, a Jharkhand Administrative Service (4th Limited Batch) officer, currently serving as the Block Officer in Karamatand, Jamtara district, faces disciplinary action for irregularities during his tenure as the Block Officer in Baliapur, Dhanbad.
The state government has approved the proposal to penalize Kumar by stopping one pay increment with a non-cumulative effect under Rule-14 (iv) of the Jharkhand Government Servant (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 2016.
Action Against Retired Officers
Retired Jharkhand Administrative Service officer Chandrashekhar Singh, who served as the Block Development Officer in Sonvarsha, Saharsa (Bihar), has been subjected to a lifetime ban on his pension under Rule-43 (b) of the Jharkhand Pension Rules.
Similarly, Awadhesh Kumar Pandey, a retired Jharkhand Administrative Service officer (Category No.-528/03) and former Commissioner of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation, will face a five percent cut from his pension for one year, as approved by the government under Rule-43 (b) of the Jharkhand Pension Rules.
The swift action taken by the Jharkhand government against these officers demonstrates its commitment to maintaining accountability and discipline within the administrative ranks.
By initiating departmental action and imposing penalties, the government aims to send a clear message that misconduct and irregularities will not be tolerated, even after retirement.
As the state moves forward post the Lok Sabha elections, the Champai Soren government appears determined to address issues of governance and ensure that public servants adhere to the highest standards of integrity and efficiency in their roles.
