Statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu Unveiled in Kadma with Blood Donation Camp

Event Highlights Cultural Legacy and Community Service with Participation from Esteemed Guests

The unveiling of Pandit Raghunath Murmu’s statue at the Santhal Jaherthan complex in Kadma was marked by a blood donation camp, collecting 59 units of blood and showcasing community spirit.

JAMSHEDPUR – The statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu, the creator of the Olchiki script, was unveiled at the tribal Santhal Jaherthan complex in Kadma.

The ceremony coincided with a blood donation camp.

Professor Dr. Hiralal Murmu and advocate Madan Mohan Soren unveiled the statue.

Dr. Hiralal Murmu emphasized the importance of blood donation.

He noted its origins during the First World War in 1942.

He pointed out that despite the need for 5 crore units of blood annually in India, rural awareness is low.

However, he observed increased awareness in tribal communities.

Madan Mohan Soren highlighted Murmu’s contribution to the Olchiki script.

He noted this gave the Santhal community a unique identity.

He mentioned the inclusion of the Santhali language in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution in 2003.

Soren called for promoting Olchiki as a common language.

He urged for constitutional recognition of the Sarna religion.

He stressed its importance in preserving tribal culture.

The event saw enthusiastic participation in the blood donation camp.

The tribal Santhal Jaherthan Committee organized the camp.

A total of 59 units of blood were collected.

Bhua Hansda from the committee expressed gratitude for the response.

He highlighted the solidarity among participants.

The success of the camp underscored the community’s dedication.

The event demonstrated the importance of cultural and humanitarian efforts.

Future events are expected to further these goals.

The ceremony and camp marked a significant day for the community.
