Collision and Overturn Causes Major Traffic Jam and Injuries on National Highway

An accident involving a truck and a container near Ghutia village in East Singhbhum district led to a major traffic disruption on NH 18.

JAMSHEDPUR – A truck carrying a load of tomatoes overturned on NH 18 near Ghutia village in the Galudih police station area, causing significant traffic disruption.

The incident happened during an overtaking maneuver on Wednesday.

The collision between a container and the truck resulted in the truck overturning on the highway.

The container ended up in a nearby field.

Tomatoes spilled across the road, leading locals to gather the scattered produce.

The blockage caused inconvenience to travelers on the highway.

Upon being informed, Kumar Indresh, the officer in charge of Galudih police station, arrived at the site.

The truck driver, Sunil Yadav, suffered severe injuries, including a broken arm.

His assistant, Raju Yadav, sustained head injuries.

Both were taken to the sub-divisional hospital for treatment.

Efforts to clear the highway began immediately.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) team was deployed to manage the situation.

The blockage lasted for about three hours.

Vehicles were redirected to the alternate lane during this period.

Sub-Divisional Officer Sachidanand Mahato, who was on his way to a meeting in Jamshedpur, stopped to evaluate the situation.

Raju Yadav informed him that the truck was transporting 25 tonnes of tomatoes valued at Rs 8 lakh from Delhi to Bhubaneswar.
