Singhbhum Candidate Joba Manjhi Files Nomination Amid Support

Joba Manjhi Supported by Top Leaders During Nomination at Chaibasa

Joba Manjhi, the India Alliance candidate for the Singhbhum Lok Sabha seat, officially filed her nomination, backed by a prominent assembly of leaders and supporters.

CHAIBASA – In a significant show of solidarity, Joba Manjhi lodged her nomination for the Singhbhum constituency, accompanied by figures such as Chief Minister Champai Soren and other notable politicians, emphasizing the collective push for victory in the forthcoming elections.

The nomination process took place on Tuesday at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, where Manjhi submitted her paperwork in four sets, surrounded by allies from various parties including Congress Minister Banna Gupta and MLA Sonaram Sinku.

A large public meeting followed the nomination at Khuntakati ground in Chaibasa, where Chief Minister Champai Soren spoke confidently about the India Alliance’s prospects against the BJP, citing past successes in keeping the BJP at bay in Kolhan.

He highlighted the state government’s initiatives, like providing pensions to those over 50 and extending benefits to forest-dwelling families, contrasting these achievements with what he described as the central government’s inaction.

Joba Manjhi, addressing the crowd, invoked the memory of her late husband Devendranath Manjhi and stressed the election’s importance as a defense of tribal rights, urging continued resistance against the BJP’s policies.

Kalpana Soren, amidst the rallying cries, accused the BJP of corruption and oppression, urging the electorate to use their votes as a statement against the injustices faced by Hemant Soren and the broader tribal community.

"The people of Singhbhum have always been fighters, and now we fight against a government that seeks to undermine our rights," she declared to the crowd.

A local tribal leader added, "We stand with Joba Manjhi and the India Alliance, to protect our heritage and our future."
