Officials Appeal for Peace, Deploy Drones for Surveillance

GIRIDIH – District administration and police officials in Giridih are on high alert ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, aiming to ensure the festival passes off peacefully and harmoniously.
Officers conducted a flag march through the city on Tuesday to review security arrangements ahead of the celebration. The march began at Bada Chowk and passed through several key routes before reaching the suburban area of Pachamba.
Giridih deputy commissioner Ramnivas Yadav and superintendent of police Dr Vimal Kumar led the march, along with DSP-1, DSP-2, and sadar SDPO Jeetvahan Oraon. A large contingent of police and administrative officials, along with security personnel, took part in the exercise.
Officials inspected major intersections and sensitive areas of the city as part of the security review. The administration said an adequate number of police personnel would be deployed across the district for the festival.
Special surveillance will be maintained at major intersections, religious sites and other sensitive locations, according to officials. The police administration said it has completed all necessary preparations to deal with any untoward situation.
Meanwhile, authorities are also preparing to use drone cameras for special monitoring of crowded areas and procession routes. Officials said social media platforms would be closely watched as well, in order to prevent the spread of rumours or inflammatory content.
During the flag march, the administration appealed to residents to celebrate the festival with mutual brotherhood, peace and harmony. Officers made clear that strict action would be taken against anyone found disturbing law and order.
Similar security drills have been held elsewhere in Jharkhand ahead of religious observances. In Jamshedpur, administration officials had earlier issued guidelines regarding festival security, while police forces across the state have increasingly relied on cyber and digital monitoring tools to track law and order threats.
Besides Giridih, the district has also been in focus recently over separate matters. Opposition leader Babulal Marandi had earlier attacked the state government over a student clash in the district, while a related report noted allegations of students being assaulted in the area. On the other hand, the JMM had recently taken to the streets in Giridih, with a report showing the party protesting the MMDR amendment bill.
The district administration further appealed to the general public not to pay heed to rumours and to immediately inform police of any suspicious activity.
