JMM Ups Ante on Singhbhum Seat by Fielding Joba Majhi

Vijay Hansda and Joba Majhi Nominated by JMM, Geeta Koda May See a Stiff Challenge from Joba

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha announces its second batch of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

CHAIBASA – The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has named Vijay Hansda and Joba Majhi as its candidates for Rajmahal and Singhbhum constituencies, respectively, in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Vijay Hansda, the sitting MP from Rajmahal, has been given the nod for a third term, highlighting his prominence within the party and constituency.

Joba Majhi’s nomination for the Chaibasa parliamentary seat is seen as a nod to her past contributions and sacrifices, including relinquishing her ministerial position in the new government.

This announcement expands JMM’s list of candidates to four, with Nalin Soren and Mathura Prasad Mahato already selected for other constituencies.

The candidacies set the stage for key contests, with Hansda facing BJP’s Tala Marandi in Rajmahal, and Majhi up against Geeta Koda of BJP in Chaibasa.

Internal party dynamics are also at play, as evidenced by veteran leader Lobin Hembram’s public dissent over Hansda’s nomination, pointing to deeper issues within JMM.

The political landscape is further complicated by the candidacies announced by Congress, CPI (ML), RJD, and the NDA, making the upcoming elections a closely watched affair across Jharkhand.
