According to witnesses, the cargo auto driver continuously hit three cars on the main road in front of the police headquarters and attempted to flee the scene.
The car owners and passers-by who witnessed the incident chased down the auto driver and caught him, subsequently subjecting him to a physical assault as a result of their anger and frustration.
Upon receiving information about the commotion, police personnel quickly reached the spot and took the auto driver, who had been beaten by the crowd, into custody at the police station.
