Sonari Auto Stand Drivers Protest Against No-Parking Autos in Jamshedpur

Road Blockade and Slogans Raised to Demand Fair Employment Opportunities

Auto drivers affiliated with the Sonari Auto Stand in Jamshedpur staged a protest by blocking the main road and raising slogans against the drivers of autos operating from no-parking areas, which they claim is affecting their livelihood.

JAMSHEDPUR – The auto drivers of Sonari Auto Stand in Jamshedpur took to the streets to voice their grievances against the drivers of autos running from no-parking zones, alleging that their non-compliance with the established line and number system is causing unfair competition and hindering their employment opportunities.

The protesting drivers, who adhere to the line and number system to ensure equitable distribution of rides among all drivers, argue that the no-parking auto drivers do not follow this protocol and pick up passengers wherever they find them, thus undermining the livelihood of the stand-based drivers.

As a mark of protest, the Sonari stand drivers blocked the main road and stopped the autos operating from no-parking areas.

The issue is not limited to the Sonari Auto Stand alone; similar situations are being reported across all auto stands in the city.

Regular stand-based drivers are expressing their resentment towards the no-parking autos, which they believe are encroaching upon their rightful employment opportunities.

The protesters are demanding that the authorities take immediate action to resolve this matter and ensure a level playing field for all auto drivers.

They fear that if the issue is not addressed promptly, it could escalate into violent clashes between the two groups of auto drivers.

The protest has brought attention to the long-standing problem faced by auto drivers who operate from designated stands and follow the established norms.

The incident highlights the need for a fair and regulated system that protects the interests of all auto drivers and prevents unfair competition.

The authorities are urged to intervene and find an amicable solution to the dispute, ensuring that the livelihood of the stand-based auto drivers is not jeopardized while also addressing the concerns of the no-parking auto drivers.

The protest serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by the auto-rickshaw sector and the importance of maintaining harmony and fair practices within the transportation industry.
