Dimna Colony Residents Protest Over Water Crisis

Water Shortage Sparks Outrage in Mango, Jamshedpur

Residents of Dimna colony in Mango, Jamshedpur, have hit a critical point, facing a severe water crisis that has left them without water supply for over two weeks. The dire situation has pushed the community, primarily consisting of daily wage earners, to fetch water from Dimna Lake, five kilometers away, significantly impacting their daily routines. The crisis deepened when a much-anticipated water tanker failed to arrive, prompting local frustration to boil over into street protests.

JAMSHEDPUR – The absence of water has compelled residents to rely on distant sources, highlighting the acute challenges faced in securing basic necessities.

This prolonged scarcity has not only strained physical resources but also highlighted systemic lapses in ensuring essential services to the colony’s inhabitants.

BJP leader Vikas Singh, having visited the troubled area, has communicated the community’s plight to relevant authorities, urging immediate resolution.

Singh has warned of escalating protests, including surrounding the residence of MLA and Health Minister Banna Gupta, to draw attention to the residents’ grievances.

The community’s grievances were aired during a protest that saw participation from figures like Sandeep Sharma, Sanju Devi, and Jagbandhu Mahato, uniting in demand for an urgent solution.

Residents have been forced into arduous treks for water, underscoring the critical need for swift governmental intervention to restore water supply.

The protest signals a growing impatience among the Dimna colony residents, who seek immediate action to end their water woes.
