Tatanagar Station Faces Water Supply Crisis Amid Heatwave

Passengers at Tatanagar clamor for water as Rail Neer supply halts

The scorching temperatures have exacerbated a water crisis at Tatanagar station, leaving passengers desperate for hydration as the Rail Neer supply faces a sudden halt. The disruption has led to an outcry among travelers, pushing for immediate solutions.

JAMSHEDPUR – Amid soaring temperatures, Tatanagar station has been hit by a significant disruption in the supply of Rail Neer, causing inconvenience to passengers seeking respite from the heat.

Travelers have expressed their frustration, urging the provision of alternative bottled water brands to mitigate the shortage.

The Food Track restaurant operator has formally requested railway authorities to allow the sale of water from other brands, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

Meanwhile, some stall operators have discreetly begun offering bottles from alternate brands to thirsty passengers.

The shortage has been attributed to a mechanical breakdown at the Danapur plant in Bihar, where bottle loading machinery failed, resulting in a three-day supply disruption.

Efforts to accommodate passengers have led to the use of other IRCTC-approved brands in pantry cars on trains, although restaurant operators were initially instructed to stick to alternative brands.

It may be added here that earlier, Indian Railways had announced a comprehensive upgrade of Tatanagar station, investing about Rs 300 crore to transform it into a world-class facility.

IRCTC assures that Rail Neer supply will resume by Friday evening, aiming to restore normal service at the station and end the reliance on alternative water brands.

This assurance comes as a relief to both restaurant and stall operators at the station, who anticipate returning to standard service provisions soon.
