JAMSHEDPUR – The recent seizure of two shops in the Sakchi market, reportedly without proper authorization, has highlighted broader issues of illegal occupation and alleged official collusion in Jamshedpur.
Local representatives, including Anoop Sendi, Sonu Hembram, and Budan Singh Hembram from the Ho Samaj, have escalated their concerns by lodging a formal complaint with the District Collector regarding the illegal occupation of government land by the tribal community in Sitaramdera.
The controversy extends to Sakchi, where allegations have surfaced about two shops being unlawfully handed over to individuals linked to the Sakchi police station, further implicating local officials in the scandal.
Residents of Sitaramdera have accused Tata Lease officials and employees of complicity in the illegal encroachment of land near a public toilet behind the church, close to the Sitaramdera police station.
The process for allocating Tata Lease land, which is supposed to be meticulously overseen by the Appropriate Machinery Committee chaired by the District Collector, has come under scrutiny for not adhering to established rules in the construction of these shops.
