Election Commission Announces Voting and Counting Dates for Jamshedpur Constituency

The Election Commission of India has set the stage for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Jamshedpur, with comprehensive preparations underway for a smooth and inclusive voting process.

JAMSHEDPUR – Detailed plans for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 have been unveiled by District Election Officer Ananya Mittal, marking key dates and logistic arrangements to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election.

The announcement includes the voting date set for May 25th and the counting of votes on June 4th. The meticulous preparation by the district administration aims at facilitating an efficient electoral process across 1887 polling stations.

The election machinery has been fortified with the establishment of 15 specialized cells, each tasked with specific functions ranging from voter awareness to logistical support, ensuring a seamless operation.

Furthermore, accommodations for postal voting have been made for officers, employees, and media personnel, reflecting a commitment to maximizing voter turnout.

The initiative underscores a proactive approach to engage and inform the electorate, leveraging voter awareness programs and the provision of essential information through the Voter Helpline App and toll-free number 1950.

Vigilance and Voter Accessibility

Special emphasis is being placed on the accessibility for voters with disabilities and the elderly, with provisions for wheelchair access and postal ballot facilities. The district’s readiness is underscored by completed training programs and the regular review of polling station facilities, ensuring that any deficiencies are promptly addressed.

Ensuring a Fair Election Process

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishore Kaushal, has highlighted strict monitoring efforts, especially on social media, to prevent the spread of misinformation and ensure adherence to the Model Code of Conduct.

Jamshedpur has a total of 18.41 lakh voters on the electoral rolls and the administration aims to ensure maximum participation in the polling process.

This vigilance is part of a broader strategy to maintain law and order and facilitate an unimpeded election process.
