RANCHI – In a decisive move to address the leakage of the JSSC CGL 2023 examination paper, Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren announced the formation of a Special Investigating Team (SIT) on Tuesday, following his commitment made during Monday’s assembly session.
The team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Besra, includes four police inspectors and additional police personnel, tasked with a thorough investigation into the incident.
This investigative team has been mandated to swiftly identify and apprehend those responsible for the leak, as detailed in the orders issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police.
Noteworthy is the timing of the leak, which occurred before the scheduled examination date of January 28, 2024, prompting immediate action from the state government.
Following a routine transfer of the initial case investigator, DSP Besra has been appointed to continue the probe, underscoring the seriousness with which the authorities are treating this breach of examination security.
A case has been registered at Namkum police station against unidentified individuals under various sections of the IPC and the IT Act, as well as the Jharkhand Competitive Examination Act, indicating the comprehensive legal framework being employed to address the issue.
The establishment of the SIT is a critical step towards ensuring the integrity of competitive examinations in Jharkhand, reflecting the state government’s resolve to uphold fairness and transparency in its recruitment processes.
