The accident reportedly took place around 5:30 pm as the Utkal Express was passing through.
People crossing the railway tracks were struck during this incident.
Although official confirmation is pending, the fatalities were immediately reported.
Tatanagar Railway Police, along with Adityapur, Gamharia, and RIT police, rushed to the scene.
A medical van from Tatanagar Railway GRP was dispatched to assist.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be determined.
