Contract Workers Demand Overdue Wages from Contractor at Tata Power

Contract workers of Abhishek Construction at Tata Power staged a protest for unpaid wages, with resolution promised by December 15th.

JAMSHEDPUR – Contract workers employed by Abhishek Construction Private Limited, working under Tata Power, have been facing a pressing issue of unpaid wages for the last three months.

In response to this, a protest was organized on Thursday in front of Tata Power Gate.

The demonstration was led by labor leader Ambuj Kumar Thakur, with the workers united in their demand for the payment of their overdue wages.

The situation escalated to the point where a representative from Abhishek Construction, Bittu Kumar Mishra, was prompted to visit the protest site.

After discussions with labor leader Ambuj Kumar Thakur, an agreement was reached.

Mishra assured that the pending wages would be credited to the workers’ accounts by December 15th.

This resolution led to the dispersal of the protest, with the workers agreeing to wait for the promised date.

Notable figures present at the protest included Ambuj Kumar Thakur, N Nanda Paul, Satyendra Singh, and Jwala Singh.
