New Plant by TCPL GES to Introduce Emission-Free Technologies; 300 Jobs to be Created with Rs 350 Crore Investment
Jharkhand welcomes Tata Cummins’ new venture, a Rs 350 crore investment for eco-friendly mobility solutions, creating 300 direct jobs.
RANCHI – The Government of Jharkhand has partnered with TCPL GES, Tata Cummins’ subsidiary, for the establishment of a manufacturing facility focused on low-to-zero-emission technologies.
With over 300 direct employment opportunities, the state’s youth will work on innovative technologies and processes, reflecting a significant boost to Jharkhand’s social and economic fabric.
The investment, exceeding Rs 350 crore, will foster fuel-agnostic powertrain solutions including battery electric vehicle systems, fuel cell electric vehicle systems, and the hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (H-ICE).
Hemant Soren, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, along with other dignitaries, witnessed the MoU signing by Jitendra Kumar, Secretary, Department of Industries, and Ajay Patil, CFO, Cummins Group in India.
In accordance with Cummins’ commitment to lean, clean, and green manufacturing, the plant is scheduled for a phased start in 2024, beginning with H-ICE, followed by other components.
Through this collaboration, Tata Cummins aims to contribute to the global drive for sustainable and emission-free mobility solutions.
