Kharge Constitutes CWC with Ex-PM, 2 Jharkhand Leaders included

Congress unveils new working committee; Jharkhand’s former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar, state in-charge Avinash Pandey included among 39 members and prominent leaders.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Congress on Sunday announced the formation of its new working committee (CWC).

The team comprises party president Mallikarjun Kharge, senior leaders including former president Sonia Gandhi, former prime minister Manmohan Singh, and Rahul Gandhi.

In this reshuffle, Avinash Pandey, in-charge of State Congress from Jharkhand, and former MP of Jamshedpur cum former State Congress President Dr. Ajoy Kumar have also been included.

According to a release issued by the party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal, 39 members, 32 permanent invitees and nine special invitees have been included in the Congress Working Committee.

The heads of all the four forward organizations of the Congress – Youth Congress, NSUI, Mahila Congress, and Seva Dal – will also be ex-officio members of the CWC.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge took over after the election in October last year.

After about 10 months, he formed the working committee.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, AK Antony, Meira Kumar, Digvijaya Singh, P Chidambaram, Anand Sharma, Shashi Tharoor, and some other senior leaders have been inducted into the CWC.
