In a district meeting, Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri stressed on quality work in municipal bodies and adherence to civic norms.
JAMSHEDPUR – Enforcement against the sale of banned plastic and thermocol products was underscored at the district meeting.
The District Magistrate emphasized on punctual payment of outsourced workers’ wages by contractors, and highlighted the need for officials to ensure the disbursement of appropriate social security benefits, EPF, and gratuities.
Urban afforestation and maximum tree planting were marked as critical initiatives for maintaining clean air quality in the city.
For the upcoming rainy season and storms, instructions were passed to trim dangerous branches, fell dry trees, clean drains, and ensure that trees aren’t touching electric lines to avoid any mishaps.
Reviews were conducted on the urban transport, civic amenities, and MLA fund plans implemented under the 15th Finance Commission.
The Deputy Commissioner implored everyone to keep the city clean, declaring it a social and moral obligation, and stated cleanliness of municipal institutions could be a measure of the city’s character.
Suspension of the prior JNAC decision to cut off water and electricity connections in instances of construction bylaw violations was directed.
Stringent adherence to estimates and governmental regulations was insisted upon for all work carried out by municipal bodies, with stern action promised against any neglect detected in the program’s quality.
In attendance were Special Officer JNAC Sanjay Kumar, the Executive Officer of Mango Municipal Corporation Suresh Yadav, AEs of all three municipal bodies, and the City Manager, among others, at the meeting called by Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri at the district collectorate auditorium to assess municipal bodies’ work.
