Uma Hospital in Pardih, Mango, finds itself in the centre of a controversy after the family of a deceased patient accused it of negligence leading to death and removal of the patient’s eye.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a shocking event, Uma Hospital in Pardih, Mango, has been accused of grave misconduct leading to a patient’s death and subsequent removal of his eye while under treatment.

The deceased patient’s family caused a furore at the hospital, rejecting the hospital administration’s claim that a rat may have caused the injury to the deceased’s eye.

The family alleges gross negligence on the hospital’s part, claiming the management did not take appropriate care of the patient.

Dr. Jujhar Majhi, East Singhbhum district civil surgeon, stated he had no prior information about this case, but assured legal action would be taken after thorough examination of the situation.

If the allegations are found true, it would represent a serious case of carelessness on the hospital’s part, he noted.

In an attempt to pacify the situation, the hospital administration offered Rs. 1.5 lakh to each of the deceased’s three children, and an additional Rs. 50,000 for funeral expenses.

Following the incident’s exposure on social media, Ulidih police stated that an FIR will be lodged.

The process of registering the case and delivering the deceased’s body to MGM Hospital for a post-mortem examination was underway.

The case has sparked widespread outrage and people have raised serious questions about patient safety and hospital accountability.
