Dhanbad Roads Turn to Ponds: BJP Plants Paddy and Catches Fish in Protest

In a unique protest against waterlogging in Dhanbad, BJP workers plant paddy on roads and catch fish, exposing the corporation’s inadequate monsoon preparations.

DHANBAD – As monsoon rains make their presence felt in Dhanbad, the inadequate pre-monsoon preparations of the local corporation are coming to light.

Waterlogging on dilapidated roads has become a common sight, and the conditions have elicited protests from local BJP workers.

In a unique demonstration on Friday, BJP activists planted paddy in the middle of waterlogged roads and fished from the makeshift "ponds."

Speaking to the media, BJP leader Amarjeet Kumar and Mandal President Rajkumar Mandal expressed their concerns about the inconvenience caused to the public due to waterlogging.

In particular, they highlighted the severe water accumulation near Dam Tatalav and its impact on daily commutes.

The BJP workers appealed to the corporation and district administration to take swift action to address the situation, hinting at a change in protest strategy if no improvements are seen.

Their creative form of protest serves as a vivid reminder of the challenges that heavy rains and poor infrastructure can pose, and the need for better urban planning and implementation.
