Jharkhand Cabinet Approves Sweeping Changes in Governance and Administrative Affairs

Chief Minister Hemant Soren led the approval of 39 proposals aimed at improving governance and administrative processes in Jharkhand.

RANCHI: The Jharkhand cabinet meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, took place on Wednesday at Project Bhawan.

During this meeting, a total of 39 proposals were approved, leading to significant advancements in governance and administrative matters in the state.

The approved proposals included an increase in various allowances for the state’s Panchayat representatives and the cancellation of the Jharkhand State Police Sub-Inspector’s limited departmental waiting period, facilitating a smoother appointment process.

Several key decisions emerged from the meeting, including amendments to the Jharkhand State Police Sub-Inspector Recruitment Rules 2016 and the formation of the Jharkhand Revenue Service Cadre Rules 2023.

The cabinet granted approval for the establishment of the Bagodar Saria Sub-Divisional Court in Giridih district and the creation of 75 permanent posts for the Jharkhand State Trial Court.

Furthermore, GAIL was granted a 30-year lease for 0.28 acres of land in Chandil for a City Gas Station, with an option for renewal at a cost of 41.26 lakhs. Land valued at Rs 11.23 crore was approved for the construction of Bank of India’s administrative building on 1.57 acres at Nagdi in Ranchi district.

Additional proposals approved comprised amendments to the compensation payment rules due to damages caused by wild animals and the dismissal of Dr. Shweta Kumari of Lesliganj from service.

The Accountant General’s State Finance Accounts Report for the financial year 2021-22 was also approved.

The meeting also saw a rise in the monthly honorarium for employees of four CIT schools in Jharkhand, amendments to various service rules, and steps toward the establishment and expansion of state and non-state libraries.
