A tragic accident during pole installation in Dhanbad claimed the lives of five contract laborers, prompting immediate suspension of operations.
DHANBAD – In a distressing incident in Dhanbad, five contract laborers lost their lives during a pole installation process near Katras station.
The mishap occurred when the pole they were working on made contact with a high-tension wire.
The accident took place near Jharjhor in Katras, along the Howrah-New Delhi railway line within the Dhanbad railway division in Gomo.
The laborers, who were engaged in the repair work of an electric pole, unfortunately, came into contact with a 250,000-volt wire, leading to fatal electrocution.
Upon receiving the news, rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident. Senior officials also arrived at the site to supervise the situation.
In the wake of the incident, all operations along this route have been temporarily suspended, and a rescue operation is currently underway.
This tragic event has cast a shadow of tragedy over the region, as investigations into the incident begin, and authorities take steps to prevent such accidents in the future.
