Wrong to disrupt rail, road or medical services!

Politicians and community leaders should try other methods of highlighting demands

editorial

The recent blockade of railway tracks by Kurmi organizations in support of their demands has caused massive disruptions to train services in the entire South Eastern Railway zone.

This has led to immense problems for the general public, who depend on these services for their daily commutes and travels.

While the protestors may have legitimate demands, disrupting essential services is not an acceptable way to protest.

It is important to recognize that inconveniencing the general public is not an effective way to pressure the government into fulfilling demands.

Instead, the protestors should consider alternative methods that do not cause harm to innocent people.

Blocking the gates of government offices and higher-ups could be a more effective way to get the government’s attention.

Alternatively, protesters could try using Gandhian methods, such as indefinite fasting.

This would create immense pressure on the government while also being a civil way of protesting.

Community leaders and politicians who claim to follow Gandhi’s principles should lead by example and try such methods.

At the same time, it is crucial for the government to be sensitive to the demands of protestors who are highlighting their demands in a civil way.

The government should not only respond to those who resort to violence or crude methods but should also engage in dialogue with peaceful protestors.

The ongoing protests by Kurmi organizations have caused immense disruptions and inconveniences to the public.

While it is important to raise voices against injustices and seek justice, it is equally important to ensure that protests are conducted in a civil manner that does not harm innocent people.

It is time for all parties to find alternative methods of pressing their demands that do not harm public services or disrupt the lives of ordinary people.
