Jamshedpur Police Crack Sakchi Theft And Arrest 6 Persons

Jamshedpur: The city police have cracked the sensational theft of cash and valuables worth Rs. 2 cr from the house of paper dealer Ajay Kumar Modi’s house in Sakchi on September 9 last. The brother of the complainant was the main conspirator of the theft.

The police have arrested six accused in this connection, including the Ajay Kumar Modi’s brother. All six have been sent to judicial custody.

The theft of cash and valuables worth more than INR 2 crore from the home of paper businessman Ajay Kumar Modi had caused a sensation in the city on September 9 when it was reported.

Now it has resulted in the arrest of six people and the police have managed to recover the stolen goods, including cash, jewellery, and electronic goods.

A cutter, iron and bamboo poles, a ladder, money, mobile phones, and a scooter were among the items discovered in the possession of the suspects, Shailesh Modi, Parvez Alam Ansari, Rahmatullah alias Batuk Ansari, Mohammad Afroz, Niranjan Gaur, and Sheikh Israfil.

According to reports, the victim’s brother Shailesh Modi hatched and orchestrated the theft by informing the suspects that the victim was travelling with his family and was out of town.

All of the suspects were apprehended and they have confessed to their roles in the crime.

According to reports, the victim’s brother Shailesh Modi organised the theft by giving the suspects information that the victim was travelling with his family. 

The SSP Prabhat Kumar today told the media that all of the suspects have been taken into custody after confessing to their roles in the crime and have been sent to judicial custody.

This case is being seen as a major success for the Jamshedpur police.
