Help extended to villager whose house was destroyed by wild elephants

Chakulia: Ghatshila MLA Samir Mohanty has provided financial assistance to a villager whose house was badly damaged by a herd of tuskers recently.

The house of villager Gurcharan Munda, a resident Sonahatu village under the Chakulia block of East Singhbhum was recently damaged badly by a herd of wild elephants.

The villagers informed the MLA of the area, Sameer Mohanty, about the incident and the plight of the poor villager.

On receiving the information, MLA Samir Mohanty visited the village and met the victim Guru Charan Mahato on Wednesday.

He also met the victim’s family and expressed grief after seeing the damaged house.

During this, the MLA provided tarpaulin along with financial assistance in cash to the family suffering due to destruction caused by elephant herd.

During this, MLA Sameer Mohanty also assured the family about providing government scheme benefits soon.

On the occasion, JMM District Joint Secretary Dhananjay Karunamay, Block President Sahebram Mandi, Madan Manna, Manoj Gop, Ram Baske, Mithun Kar, Bulbul Mandal, Basudev Mahato, Chandan Mahato and villagers were also present.
