IIT ISM Dhanbad Shines in Tata Steel’s Technology Mentorship Program

Tata Steel’s 9th edition of its technology mentorship program, ‘Mind Over Matter,’ culminated with IIT ISM Dhanbad securing the 1st Runner-up position, showcasing innovative solutions in steel-making and new materials.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s prestigious ‘Mind Over Matter’ technology mentorship program concluded its 9th edition, recognizing the brightest engineering talents from India’s top institutes.

The program’s finale, held on December 18, saw Vanshika Dixit from MNIT Jaipur winning the competition, while the team from IIT ISM Dhanbad, comprising Burada Shravani and Navneet Kumar Mishra, clinched the 1st Runner-up spot.

Ranjan Kumar Verma from IIEST Shibpur earned the 2nd Runner-up position.

The winners, first and second runners-up were awarded cash prizes of Rs 100,000, Rs 75,000, and Rs 50,000, respectively, along with certificates and Pre-Placement Offers from Tata Steel.

Participants ranking from 4th to 11th place received Pre-Placement Interview opportunities.

Additionally, the winning teams will have the chance to develop their ideas into prototypes at Tata Steel under expert mentorship.

Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services at Tata Steel, highlighted the program’s role in fostering innovation through collaboration among India’s brightest minds.

Dr. Debashish Bhattacharjee, Vice President of Technology and R&D at Tata Steel, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation in the context of evolving consumer needs and sustainability challenges.

The program’s finale featured 11 top teams presenting their innovative solutions to a distinguished jury, marking a significant contribution to Tata Steel’s pursuit of cutting-edge research and development.
