Yellow-Clad Devotees Join Day-Long Rituals At Temple

JAMSHEDPUR – A grand Janmashtami festival was organized at Brahmalokdham in Kadma on September 2 to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna.
The celebrations, held under the guidance of the temple’s spiritual leader, drew a large number of devotees throughout the day. Organizer Monu Bhattacharya said that people were encouraged to participate in large numbers to become part of the festival of devotion, love and joy.
Devotees present at the event received the divine presence of the guru during the celebrations. However, the day’s programme followed a structured schedule from the early hours.
The rituals began at 5 a.m. with a Smaranam session. Subsequently, the deity’s Shringar, or adornment, was performed at 7:15 a.m., followed by a Havan ceremony at 7:30 a.m.
A Nagar Kirtan procession was taken out at 8:45 a.m. Moreover, a Chhappan Bhog offering of 56 dishes was presented to Lord Krishna at 9:15 a.m.
The evening segment of the celebrations began at 5 p.m., when devotees performed a Vandan of the deity’s feet with honey and milk. Meanwhile, a Mahabhog was organized later in the night at 8 p.m.
According to the organizing committee, devotees remained immersed in devotion to Lord Krishna through various religious and spiritual programmes held across the day. Besides the rituals, a special dress code was also announced for the occasion.
Male devotees were requested to wear yellow dhoti-kurta, while female devotees were asked to wear yellow sarees paired with yellow blouses. On the other hand, organizers said the Kadma premises of Brahmalokdham were decorated attractively for the occasion, with special arrangements made for devotees.
The Janmashtami festival at Brahmalokdham was among several such celebrations held across Jamshedpur this year. Similar Suryadham celebrations were also organized in the city between September 2 and 4.
In addition, the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations at Sidgora Surya Mandir featured similar rituals and devotional programmes. Meanwhile, other parts of the city, including Kadma locality, also witnessed heightened activity around the festival period.
Throughout the day, religious rituals, bhajan-kirtan sessions and prasad distribution continued at the venue. Devotees expressed enthusiasm for the Janmashtami celebrations, according to the organizers.
Such festive gatherings have also been a recurring feature of the city’s cultural festivities, with community groups organizing their own religious celebrations during the same period.
