Knife Attack Erupts After Brawl Breaks Out on Dance Floor

JAMSHEDPUR – A violent clash between two groups left one youth stabbed and another injured late Saturday night at a nightclub in the Bistupur police station area.
The fight broke out at the Double Down (DD) Club after members of one group objected to lewd remarks and harassment directed at women by youths from another group. Both injured men were later admitted to Tata Main Hospital for treatment.
The injured have been identified as Himanshu Singh and Pratyush Singh, both residents of Adityapur. Police said the incident occurred around midnight.
According to information gathered, a group of young men and women was attending a party at the club when the confrontation began. Some youths from a separate group allegedly began passing inappropriate comments and harassing the women on the dance floor.
When this was opposed, the disagreement quickly escalated. Verbal arguments soon turned into a full-blown brawl between the two groups inside the venue.
As the situation worsened, bouncers at the club intervened and pushed both groups outside. However, the dispute did not end there, and fighting resumed shortly afterward outside the premises.
During this second round of violence, one of the youths pulled out a knife and attacked a member of the rival group. The attack left the victim with a stab wound to the stomach.
Bistupur police rushed to the spot after being alerted to the incident. The injured youth was sent to TMH for emergency treatment.
Police have detained one youth allegedly involved in the clash and have begun questioning him. Investigators said the inquiry into the matter is ongoing.
Officers are working to establish the exact sequence of events and the underlying cause of the confrontation. Meanwhile, the area around the club is reported to be a hub of nightlife activity in Jamshedpur, drawing crowds on weekends.
