JAMSHEDPUR – Nutan Singh withdrew her candidature for the Jugsalai municipal council chief post and publicly endorsed BJP-backed candidate Rinku Singh.

Nutan Singh, a candidate for the Jugsalai municipal council chief post, announced her withdrawal on Thursday. She extended support and blessings to Rinku Singh. Meanwhile, Rinku Singh is the Bharatiya Janata Party-backed candidate in the election.

BJP district president Sanjeev Sinha confirmed the development during a press conference. The briefing was held at a residence on Station Road. He said several aspirants had applied for the post. However, the party selected Rinku Singh after internal deliberations.

Sanjeev Sinha said Nutan Singh and her husband Pappu Singh had prepared seriously. On the other hand, the party followed directions from state leadership. Therefore, Nutan Singh respected the decision and withdrew her nomination.

Rinku Singh sought blessings from Nutan Singh during the event. She was honoured with a shawl in a public gesture. Meanwhile, Nutan Singh assured full cooperation and expressed confidence in Rinku Singh’s victory.

Nutan Singh described Rinku Singh as her younger sister. She said party and community guidance shaped her decision. Moreover, she said sacrifice was necessary for collective interest.

Pappu Singh said he had applied as per party process. However, he chose to follow the party and social decision. He said discipline guided their move.

Rinku Singh said the families shared long-standing relations. She said the blessings gave her strength and motivation. Moreover, she said it would inspire work for Jugsalai’s development.

The endorsement event was marked by slogans near Hari Milap Mandir. Meanwhile, supporters expressed confidence in electoral success.

Former BJP district president Abhay Singh praised the withdrawal decision. He said the move reflected foresight and maturity. Moreover, he said the family had a long record of social service.

Abhay Singh said Friday was the official withdrawal deadline. However, the announcement was made earlier. He said party leadership allowed independent consideration. Therefore, the decision was welcomed.

He also commented on development challenges in Jugsalai. He said population growth demanded responsible leadership. In contrast, he criticised rival candidates without naming them.

The press conference was attended by several BJP leaders and supporters. They included district and mandal-level office bearers. Meanwhile, the municipal election remains closely watched across Jamshedpur.

For broader context, the development follows recent reports on BJP candidate announcements. Moreover, it comes amid coverage of nomination filings. On the other hand, similar unity moves were reported in earlier withdrawals. Background issues include municipal election delays. Legal aspects were earlier highlighted in court interventions.
