JAMSHEDPUR – In a swift operation, police arrested seven individuals involved in an armed robbery at Maa Tara Construction Company in Kamalpur. The suspects were apprehended within 72 hours of the incident.
The arrested individuals include Sanatan Tanti alias Sonu (30) from Seraikela-Kharsawan, Sandeep Kumar from Tamar, Prakash Mahato alias Ram Pravesh Mahato (19) from Tamar, Gangu Munda alias Gunga Munda (23) from Arki, Ashok Mahato (18) from Tamar, Suram Munda (19) from Khunti, and Umesh Kumar Mahato (25) from Tamar. They have been remanded to judicial custody.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kaushal Kishore stated that the suspects robbed the company’s owner at gunpoint. Following the incident, a dedicated team was formed under the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to investigate the case. The investigation revealed that the primary motive was robbery, facilitated by the involvement of a truck driver who assisted the criminals in executing the plan.
Recent Crime Crackdowns in Jamshedpur
In a related development, Jamshedpur police dismantled a major LPG theft operation in the Belajhuri area on November 29, 2024. The raid led to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of 48 gas cylinders and equipment used in the illegal gas trade.
Additionally, in September 2024, Sitaramdera police arrested five youths involved in multiple theft and robbery cases across the area. The operation resulted in the recovery of stolen mobile phones and a bike linked to a temple donation box theft.
