JAMSHEDPUR – A crucial inter-state meeting was convened to bolster security arrangements for the upcoming 2024 Assembly Elections in Jharkhand.

Kolhan Commissioner Hari Kumar Keshari and DIG Manoj Ratan led the high-level gathering.

Officials from three districts each of West Bengal and Odisha participated in the discussions.

Representatives from six Jharkhand districts bordering Kolhan division also attended the meeting.

The session focused on enhancing security measures at interstate and inter-district borders.

Officials discussed the establishment of mirror checkposts and composite checkposts.

Preventing illegal transportation of cash, liquor, and other potential vote-influencing items was a key topic.

A dedicated WhatsApp group was proposed for efficient cross-border police coordination.

The initiative aims to facilitate real-time information exchange between border states.

Joint operations to combat Naxal activities and enhance law and order were planned.

Commissioner Keshari stressed the importance of mutual coordination for peaceful elections.

The meeting highlighted the need for continuous communication among border state officers.

WhatsApp groups at police station and sub-division levels were recommended for information sharing.

Deployment of security forces at sensitive locations was emphasized to maintain order.

Officials discussed strategies to monitor habitual criminals and miscreants in border areas.
