JAMSHEDPUR – A female student faced harassment by three youths at Mango JKS College, with one suspect apprehended by locals while two escaped.

The incident unfolded on Friday within the college premises and on the nearby road.

Initially, the three youths harassed the student inside the college grounds.

In response, she reported the matter to a professor and staff member.

Subsequently, the perpetrators left the college, issuing threats to the student.

Later, as the victim was returning home with her friends, the situation escalated.

The youths attempted to forcibly make her ride their motorcycle.

However, the student and her companions raised an alarm, attracting local residents.

In the ensuing commotion, one suspect was caught, while his accomplices fled on a motorcycle.

The apprehended individual was identified as Shabbir Ansari, a resident of Azad Nagar.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Vikas Singh arrived at Azad Nagar police station upon hearing about the incident.

He demanded swift action against the culprits.

According to police officials, a case has been registered based on the student’s statement.
