Villagers Block Galudih-Narsinghpur Road Demanding Construction of Rural Road

Sabar Community Protests Lack of Road in Dhodanga Sabar Basti, Threaten Election Boycott

Frustrated villagers from Dhodanga Sabar Basti blocked the Galudih-Narsinghpur main road demanding a road, citing long-standing neglect and challenging living conditions.

JAMSHEDPUR – On Friday, villagers from Dhodanga Sabar Basti, led by village head Badasukra Sabar, blocked the Galudih-Narsinghpur main road near Bagalgoda village under the Galudih police station area.

The protestors sat on the road despite the scorching heat, halting all movement to demand the construction of a road to their colony.

Badasukra Sabar expressed frustration, stating that numerous complaints about the lack of a road had gone unheard.

Villagers face significant difficulties commuting, and their problem remains unresolved despite repeated complaints.

He questioned whether their Sabar colony was excluded from development plans and demanded to know why a road has not been constructed.

The protest involves 17 families with 65 voters from Dhodanga Sabar Basti, who are determined to maintain the blockade until officials come to address their concerns.

They have also threatened to boycott the Lok Sabha elections if their demand for a rural road is not met.

The absence of a road has forced villagers to carry patients on cots to the main road during emergencies, as no road has been built to reach Dhodanga Sabar Basti even after 76 years of independence.

The lack of proper roads has posed severe challenges for school children, villagers, and emergency services.

Without a functional road, four-wheelers, ambulances, and fire brigade vehicles cannot reach the village.

In emergencies, patients have to be transported on cots, resulting in deaths due to delayed medical care.

Despite previous protests, no public representatives or officials have addressed the villagers’ concerns.

This ongoing neglect has prompted the villagers to take a firm stand, demanding immediate action.

The road blockage highlights the urgent need for infrastructure development in rural areas to ensure basic amenities for all residents.
