Unseeded Sajal Kesarwani Advances After Comeback Victory Over 4th Seed Mukil Ramanan

Kesarwani’s dream run continues as he secures a spot in the semi-finals at the Tata Steel AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament.

JAMSHEDPUR – Sajal Kesarwani continued his impressive journey at the ongoing Tata Steel AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament, advancing to the semi-finals.

The unseeded Kesarwani defeated Mukil Ramanan, the 4th seed, after a dramatic comeback.

Despite losing the first set 0-6, Kesarwani rallied to win the second set 6-3.

In the deciding set, Kesarwani claimed victory in a tie-breaker, finishing the match 0-6, 6-3, 7-6(2) after 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Top seed V M Ranjeet of Tamil Nadu and second seed Ritabrata Sarkar of Bengal secured easy wins.

Ranjeet defeated Sarthak Suden 6-1, 6-1, while Sarkar bested Md Fardeen 6-2, 6-2.

Third seed Abhinansu Borthakur also won against Bicky Sagolshem, triumphing 6-3, 6-3.

Tomorrow’s matches start at 8 a.m. at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
