BOKARO – The Criminal Investigation Department has intensified its probe into the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission’s CGL examination case, summoning two public relations officers from Bokaro for questioning at its Ranchi headquarters.
According to available information, former Bokaro District Public Relations Officer Saket Pandey and current Assistant Public Relations Officer Avinash Kumar Singh have been directed to appear at the CID office on September 10, 2026.
Both officers have reportedly been called in connection with Ranchi police station case number 01/2025, which is understood to be linked to the ongoing investigation into the JSSC-CGL examination. The case has drawn sustained scrutiny from investigators in recent months.
CID officials are expected to question the two on various aspects and facts connected to the case. The investigating agency has not made the specific points of questioning public at this stage.
Meanwhile, the fresh summons have brought the JSSC-CGL case back into focus, with the probe continuing to expand its scope across departments. The development follows a series of recent actions linked to the broader recruitment scam investigation in the state.
CID investigators earlier secured a confession from an alleged kingpin in a related recruitment scam case, in which general category CDPO seats were reportedly sold for lakhs of rupees. The agency has also questioned over 100 candidates as part of its expanding special investigation team probe, while the commission itself cancelled its 2023 intermediate-level joint examination amid the fallout. The CID had earlier arrested four successful JSSC-CGL candidates in a related exam fraud case.
