Jamshedpur Women’s University Confers Degrees on 1,990 Students

JAMSHEDPUR – Jharkhand Governor and university chancellor Santosh Kumar Gangwar addressed graduating students at Jamshedpur Women’s University’s convocation. He urged them to carry forward their studies with strong character and values.
Speaking as chief guest at the ceremony, Gangwar said a convocation does not mark the end of an academic journey. Rather, he called it the beginning of a new chapter in life.
He said the occasion was a moment of pride for students, their parents and their teachers alike. Moreover, he noted that a degree alone opens doors to opportunity.
However, Gangwar said a person’s true identity comes from their talent, character and conduct. He urged the students to perform to their best across fields such as education, administration, science, medicine, industry, sports and social service.
The governor also advised the graduates to hold onto ethical values throughout their lives. During the ceremony, degrees were conferred on 1,990 students of the university.
Several dignitaries attended the event. They included CSIR-NML director Dr. Sandeep Ghosh Chaudhary, university vice-chancellor Prof. Ila Kumar and registrar Dr. Saloni Kujur.
Gangwar told the students not to be discouraged by failure. He said not every effort in life turns into success, but that challenges and setbacks offer their own lessons.
Continuous effort and positive thinking are the real keys to success, he said. In addition, he referred to the National Education Policy 2020 and the goal of “Viksit Bharat 2047” in his address.
He said the new education policy does not limit education to employment alone. Besides employment, he said it promotes skills, innovation, research and creativity.
Educated and self-reliant daughters will play a vital role in the nation’s development, Gangwar said. He praised the university’s achievements and said Jharkhand’s daughters are full of talent and capability.
The governor called on the students to link their personal success with nation-building. He said graduates should leave the university not just with a degree, but with confidence, values and a resolve to bring change.
The convocation adds to a series of academic milestones reported in the city this year, including a quality-publishing workshop held earlier at the same institution. Similar higher-education developments have also been reported at other city institutions in recent months.
Officials from Sakchi and other parts of the district have attended similar public events through the year. The university’s convocation follows a broader push toward institutional growth across Jamshedpur.
