Kolhan Trade Body Retains Voice With Moonka’s Second Term

JAMSHEDPUR – Vijay Anand Moonka has been re-elected unopposed as regional vice-president of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries from the Kolhan division, following the completion of the organization’s nomination process.
Moonka’s second consecutive unopposed election was confirmed after only one nomination was received for the regional vice-president post from Kolhan. Meanwhile, the re-election has generated enthusiasm among traders, entrepreneurs and industry representatives across Jamshedpur and the wider Kolhan division.
Moonka has a long track record in trade and industry, having served four consecutive years as president of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries. During his tenure there, he worked to raise traders’ and industry’s concerns, lobby effectively with the government and administration, and pursue solutions to their problems. His leadership and organizational ability drew wide appreciation within the business community.
In addition, during his current term at FJCCI, Moonka has played an active role in effectively representing the concerns of Kolhan’s traders and entrepreneurs at the state level, a period that has also seen the Tata Steel bonus settlement shape sentiment among the city’s business community ahead of the festive season. However, it is this activity, experience and commitment to the business community that is being seen as the main basis for his re-election.
Various trade and industry representatives described the unopposed re-election as an important achievement for Kolhan’s business community. They said Moonka’s continued leadership would allow Kolhan’s voice to be raised with greater strength and influence within FJCCI, much as the recent leadership changes at Tata Steel have reshaped the city’s corporate landscape. Moreover, they said his experience and activism would benefit not just Kolhan but the wider trade and industry sector across Jharkhand.
Traders and entrepreneurs said his continued leadership would help push issues such as ease of doing business, industrial development, investment promotion, infrastructure and policy reforms more effectively at the state level, alongside other civic priorities such as the upcoming education seminar scheduled in the city.
Following his re-election, Moonka thanked the trade and industry community and said he would continue working, as before, to strongly voice the interests of traders and entrepreneurs across Kolhan and Jharkhand, and to build a better environment for trade and industry in the state. He said the responsibility was not merely a post but a duty to fulfil the trust and expectations of the business and industrial community.
