Women’s Akhara Plans Three-Day Show at Bhootnath Temple in Jamshedpur

JAMSHEDPUR – The Sri Ram Janaki Hanuman Mahila Akhara held a press conference Thursday evening at the Shri Bhootnath Temple premises in the city’s CH Area, announcing a three-day cultural programme scheduled for later this month.

The press meet, held at 6 pm, was chaired by Usha Singh. Meanwhile, Ravi Nandan served as the event’s convener. Details about the akhara’s upcoming activities and organisational matters were shared at length during the briefing.

The three-day programme is scheduled for March 25, 26, and 27. On the other hand, the highlight of the event will be traditional acrobatic performances, to be carried out by the women members of the akhara.

The organisation’s leadership team is led by President Usha Singh. In addition, Ritu Singh and Anju Singh serve as Vice-Presidents, while Rashmi Das holds the post of General Secretary. Neetu Singh is the Treasurer.

The Joint Secretaries are Rita Sharma, Guddi Verma, and Bhala Devi. Meanwhile, Sudha Prasad handles Programme Coordination and Vandana Devi serves on the Coordination Committee.

The broader akhara samiti members include Geeta Gupta, Meera, Munni, Santoshi, Yogita, Yashodha, Mamta Devi, Jai Devi, Sunaina, and Sumitra Devi, all of whom are actively contributing to the preparations.

The organisers stated that this event is held every year. However, this year, all members have been urged to participate actively in making the programme a success.

Jamshedpur has a history of vibrant akhara-based religious gatherings, with several such organisations conducting annual events tied to the Hindu calendar. The Mahila Akhara’s annual showcase is among the prominent ones, drawing participation from across the community.
